Pedare students only go to the Shared Facilities in a Pedare class with a Pedare teacher. The Shared Facilities and the other schools are otherwise out of bounds. Each school has its own identity, ethos, traditions, manner of operation and facilities, but also has access to:

  • High level Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology laboratories
  • Specialist ICT laboratories
  • Large Design & Technology suite – CAD rooms, electronics laboratories, wood, metal, plastic and auto teaching areas
  • Music suite and Multi-Media Studio – with recording and production facilities, a computer studio, keyboard laboratory, a music studio and a number of individual practice rooms
  • An extensive Home Economics suite – food and textile rooms
  • Recreation and Arts Centre – first class hockey pitch, three gymnasia, theatre used for Pedare musicals, commercial kitchen and dining room
  • Senior Resource Centre
  • Visual Arts Studio
  • A $4.2 million Electrotechnology Trade Training Centre – electronics laboratories, CAD and programming rooms, computer pod/print area and an Applied Physics laboratory providing the latest technology for state-of-the-art training. This provides opportunities for students to complete studies in both TAFE and university pathways.

Electrotechnology Trade Training Centre

The Trade Training Centre is primarily used for delivery of courses within the discipline of Design and Technology at Year 10, Stage 1 (Year 11) and Stage 2 (Year 12).

There is potential for Year 10 students to study Electrotechnology Certificate 1, which provides for the four basic TAFE competencies within the discipline of Electronics. This is offered as part of the Design and Technology curriculum.

At Stage 1 (Year 11) students may choose Electrotechnology, a two semester course with a one week work placement. Selection into this course is dependent on available spaces. At Stage 2 (Year 12) a cross-campus SACE course is offered in Electronics as part of the Design and Technology curriculum.

In addition to these offerings, students may elect to study Electrotechnology one day per week at a nominated TAFE campus. Enrolment in these courses is arranged by the Pedare Director of Senior Studies and Pathways.

Also available through Pedare is study within the Advanced Technology Project. This project involves students from Year 8 to Year 12 who wish to experience Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing with an engineering emphasis. This course is delivered through the Design and Technology curriculum.
