 Pee-wee Tennis

PeeWee Tennis is available to all Reception – Year 2 students. PeeWee tennis is especially designed for younger children with a modified ball and court set-up. The sessions are run by Jason Todd (and his coaches), who is the Club Professional at Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club.

 Yoga

Students will have the opportunity to participate in Yoga with Yoga instructor Susannah Frost on Friday afternoons. Susannah is a highly trained Yoga teacher who has many years of experience working with children. Susannah is passionate about children’s mental health and the importance of a healthy self-esteem, confidence building and maintaining happiness.

Hot Shots Tennis

Hot Shots will run on a Thursday at lunchtime from 11:40am – 12:20pm, in Blue Gum Hall, commencing Thursday, February 8th (Wk 2) and run for 8 sessions. The sessions are run by Jason Todd (and his coaches), who is the Club Professional at Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club.

Athletics

In preparation for the Pedare Athletics Carnival and Interschool events, Athletics training allows students to improve their chosen events. Pedare competes in several interschool athletics events each year, including the Secondary School Sport of South Australia (SSSSA) athletics at Santos Stadium and Tea Tree Gully SAPSASA competition.

  • Training: Thursday 7:30am (Pedare Oval)

Basketball (Girls)

Middle (7-9) and Senior (10-12) teams compete against other all-girls teams in the South Australian Catholic Secondary School Girls Sports Association (SACSSGSA)

Competition

  • Saturday morning
  • Location: Set location each week. Marryatville High School or Loreto College.
  • Training: Thursday afternoon 3:30-4:30pm

Basketball (Boys & Mixed)

Students in year 6-7 compete in The Golden Grove Recreation Centre mid-week competition (Run by Norwood Basketball Club). These are mixed teams from under 12s to under 14s.

Competition

  • U/12- Thursday afternoon
  • U/14- Tuesday afternoon
  • Location: Golden Grove Recreation Centre
  • Training: Monday afternoon 3:30-4:30pm

Cricket

Pedare Cricket teams compete in the Sports Association of Adelaide Schools (SAAS) competition. Pedare may also enter teams in the local 6/7 SACA competition if numbers allow.

  • Training: 6/7 Tuesday afternoon, 8/9 & Open Thursday afternoon

Netball – SPIN

The Pedare Specialist Program in Netball (SPIN) allows students to develop specific netball skills whilst maintaining a focus on academic excellence. It is an integrated educational program focusing on the essential elements of Netball, building towards successful performance across all sports.

The program is endorsed and supported by Netball SA through access to resources, coaching and professional development and delivered by Adelaide Thunderbirds player, Fiona Themann. Pedare students have the opportunity to play competitive Netball representing the College through the South Australian District Netball Association (SADNA) along with the opportunity for students to trial for Squad Teams in Years 6-12.

Swimming

The Pedare Swim Squad allows swimmers to be involved in a competitive swimming environment. Being a part of the Swimming squad will teach students the importance of hard work and discipline while developing their technique through a variety of training methods.

  • Squad Training: Fridays 7.00-8:15 am
  • Location: State Swim, Golden Grove

Tennis

Tennis teams compete in the Sports Association of Adelaide Schools competition (SAAS).

  • 6/7- Friday afternoon
  • 8/9 & Open- Saturday morning

Volleyball (Girls)
