The Diamonds are Forever Cabaret Evening will be a highly entertaining night of performances from our 2018 Generations in Jazz students. Our amazingly talented students from Years 8-12, make up the Pedare Stage Band and Luminaire Vocal who will shine bright like a diamond as they perform some challenging competition pieces along with some Jazz favourites. Some of Pedare’s soloist’s will also be performing passionate, inspiring pieces.
Cabaret Night provides students preparation for the Generations in Jazz competition in Mt Gambier and the funds raised on the night contribute as a major fundraiser for the trip in May.
Generations in Jazz is a highly regarded music event, hosted by James Morrison, where students from the Pedare Stage Band and Luminaire Vocal Group will perform in a competition against schools from around Australia (and some international schools)
The Jazz band and vocal competition are judged by a range of professional and well-respected musicians from all over the world. Every year at Generations of Jazz our students are inspired and challenged by the performances of other schools and the famous artists who perform throughout the weekend.
Both the Cabaret Night and the Generations in Jazz give Music students the opportunity to perform as an ensemble and develop their confidence as they take to the stage to express their individual skills and talents.
The Music program at Pedare is growing every year, with over 250 students from Reception to Year 12 actively involved in instrumental and vocal lessons at the start of 2018. Many of these students have joined, with much excitement and enthusiasm, one or more of the Junior, Middle, and Senior Music Ensembles.
These ensembles provide a valuable experience for any students involved in learning an instrument, giving them sense of belonging, team-work and achievement. We are proud of how Music continues to mature at Pedare and look forward to continuous development of the College’s Music Program.
All proceeds will contribute to Pedare students attend the Generations in Jazz
Special thanks to Edibelle Cakes and The Wine Ministry for supporting this event.
