PASCAL (Pedare After School Care and Learning)

Pedare Christian College is a registered Outside School Hours Care Service, fully accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council. After school care is provided by qualified child-care workers who supervise and care for children in the Learning Centre at the Surrey Farm Campus, adjacent to the main carpark.  From 3.20 to 6.00pm each week day, children are provided with afternoon tea, and have the opportunity to do their homework, access computers and the internet and play within the supervised outdoor areas.

All children are collected at nominated times and only under the supervision of a PASCAL child-care worker on duty.  All children must be collected by 6.00 pm at the latest unless emergency care arrangements have been communicated and agreed with PASCAL staff.

At this stage, there is insufficient demand for before school care to be provided as children are welcome to enter the main quadrangle area from 8.00 am each morning.  This is considered an appropriately safe area where arriving students assemble before the start of each day, and there are staff in the vicinity.

Fees and charges for after school care are reviewed annually and for 2008 will be $13.50 per child per session, regardless of what time children are collected.  Parents may be eligible for a Child Care Benefit subsidy through the Family Assistance Office.

All bookings for after school care places must be made in advance by contacting the College Office on 8280 1700.  Places may be requested up to one term in advance and cancellations without charge must be advised by 9.00 am each morning.

Pedare Christian College is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all children who attend.  The College is pleased to provide our PASCAL service in supporting families within our community.
