This is available to study a subject that Pedare does not offer, or to free up other subject choices.
Vocational Education & Training (VET)
VET is the study of nationally accredited training modules/competencies that allow successful students advanced standing in further vocational study. Students achieve dual accreditation in the SACE and VET sector.
Industry based Training Packages provide a nationally recognised qualification which is part of the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).
Internal VET Courses
Some Senior Schooling subjects have VET competencies embedded within the curriculum to allow students to receive dual accreditation.
External VET Courses
Most VET is studied externally with a Registered Training Organization (RTO) at either TAFE SA or through a private provider. Students have the opportunity to study in many different areas, learning from industry experts and using current industry specific equipment, thus preparing them for a smooth transition into the world of work.
Christian Life
The Christian Life program is undertaken by all students at Pedare from Reception to Year
12. It underpins the Christian ethos of the College, and is taught by staff so as to foster in every student a desire to serve God and other people, whilst developing a lasting set of Christian virtues.
Successful study of Christian Life in Years 11 and 12 will qualify students for additional units towards their SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education).
Such topics as the following are addressed: Introducing Jesus, Introducing the Old and New Testaments, Comparing Christianity with Other Religions, Adolescent Growth and Relationships, The Gospel of Luke, Acts of the Apostles, Heroes, Christian Lifestyle Issues and Questions, Christian reading.
The College promotes an ethical position where a Christian view of life is integrated naturally throughout the curriculum, routines and practices of the College.
