Callum McGing, Year 12, has returned from his adventures in China for the Chinese Bridge World Competition. Callum and his team have made a video clip to thank everybody who voted and supported them, although it is in Chinese. To view the video please click here
There were 191 teams competing for the six outstanding awards and Callum and his team were among the recipients of one of the awards, receiving a six-month scholarship to study at any university in China and a return air-ticket. They are the only team from Oceania to receive this award. Callum also appeared regularly in local media. Click here to view one of the newspaper articles.
Callum appreciated the opportunity to immerse himself in the culture and is very pleased about how much his language skills have improved. He has also made a lot of new friends from all over the world and broadened his horizons.
We have high hopes for the next competition which will be in Perth next year to again qualify for the main event in China.
