On Friday, 1 May, Year 1 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Gorge Wildlife Park. After a very twisty coach journey, we were lucky enough to get up close to a koala, a python and some tortoises. Students learned about what these animals need in their habitats, what they eat and how the keepers look after them. Did you know that koalas sleep for up to 22 hours a day?
We split into small groups and planned our routes to make sure everyone saw their favourite animals. The wallabies, kangaroos and camels were certainly well-fed by the end of the day! We are so proud of how respectful 1B and 1HS were toward the animals and want to say a big thank you to the helpers who gave up their time to make the day so special.
